Battlefield: Bad Company review
Hey it’s spade here and I just downloaded the demo of Battlefield: Bad Company on the Playstation Store and the game is just awesome. The graphics look great, storyline is good, but it’s very short on the demo version. It’s absolutely fun and just great. The demo game is about that people that couldn’t get into the army for lack of smartness or whatever get sent to the B-Company. You play as this guy called Preston who goes there because he could either go to prison or there so he chose the B-Company. Ok there are 3 other guys with you. The Sergeant, the nerdy guy, and the idiot. Anyways the demo ends right when the actual story begins which is you were in war with Russians, but they hired these guys [forgot name] and well they have gold or something…yeah I can’t really remember lol. well anyways the demo was great and most critics gave it more than an 8 so it’s pretty good.
SPADE’S RATING: 9.0: Outstanding

VERSUS

Both the 360, and the PS3 are great consoles, but which is better? Sony’s Playstation 3, or Microsoft’s Xbox 360. The PS3 costs from $399 up to $599! While the Xbox 360 costs from $299 up to $499. The 360 is obviously the cheaper choice, but PS3 is worth the money.
Ok, we’ll start of with graphics. On both consoles, graphics are amazing. There’s not much difference, but for some games the lighting are different. For example, Tony Hawk’s Project 8 looked great on both , but on PS3 version it was a little brighter which made it sorta look better. Another example is Need for Speed Carbon. The graphics looked better on the 360, but the lighting was much better on the PS3. Overall both system have great graphics and look great so there’s not much difference.
Ok, now time to talk about memory. The PS3 has up to 80GB stored inside the console, however the 360 still uses the old fashioned memory cards, but a 120GB hard drive is available for a low price. 120 is alot, but 80GB can get you alot of demos and stuff too, so unless you’re an absolute downloading freak then go for the 360. Ok, let’s say you need all that memory and you want to setle for something small. The 360 also offers a 60GB hard drive and the memory cards. The PS3 offers 40gb, 60,gb, and 80gb.
Now we move on to media. The PS3 has a Blu-Ray Player built in, but if you don’t have Blue-Ray movies, you’re still covered. PS3 still offers DVD, CD, and HD DVD. Blu-Ray is the future of High-Def with 10 times more memory than a DVD, and a 7.1 Surround Sound. That’s what I call True HD. But Blu-Ray isn’t just for movies, it can also be used for games. So what does that mean? Compare 5GB to 50GB. So that means much bigger worlds, More enemies, and more storyline.
Now the 360 doesn’t have Blu-Ray player, but it still has HD DVD. It can store up to 35GB and 7.1 Surround Sound. Not as good as the Blu-Ray, but still it’s not bad. But if you want it for the 360, you have to pay up. But it’s not anything big, just about $50
The CPU or the Central Processing Unit is the whole brains of the systems. The PS3 uses a Processing system called Cell broadband engine and the 360 uses A processing system called Xenon. Both run at 3.2GHz, which is pretty fast. PS3’s Cell Broadband Engine constructs of 8 different parts. Each part focuses on 1 part of the game. Like 1 of the parts focuses on the car movement, while another focuses on shading, while another focuses on lighting, and another focuses on how thing reacts and so on. The Xenon isn’t separated like the PS3’s. It’s processor was created from IBM. The Xenon processor is a Tricore which means it’s split up into 3 parts. Both processors work good and run smoothly.
Now let’s move on to the controllers. The PS3 uses a controller called the Sixaxis. It’s a regular PS3 controller except it’s a wireless. The usual look. Triangle, Circle, X, Square, 2 Analog sticks, Up, Down, Left, and right. R1, L1, R2, L2. But what’s beneath the Sixaxis controller is a motion sensor controller. Say you’re playing a racing game. Move the controller to the right, the car moves right. turn to left, goes left. Move it up, Down, Left Right, Pull it, Push, and it all reacts as you play. The Sixaxis is sorta like the wii controller, except with a different shape. The bad thing is, no vibrations…but it’s ok, because Dual Shock 3 is out! Dual Shock 3 is exactly like Sixaxis, but with vibrations and the controller is a little heavier too.
Now the 360 controller hasn’t changed much either. The regular Y,X,A,B, Up Down right Left, and the 2 Analog Sticks at the top left and in the right. The controller is a little easier to hold and is a bit smoother and it’s also and can extend up to 30 feet. However the PS3 can extend to 45 feet, but 30 feet is already alot. It takes about 45 minutes for the 360s controller to be fully charged but lasts for over 50 hours. The PS3’s Sixaxis takes about 15 minutes to charge but can only last a little over 18 hours.
Moving on to the online Service. The online Service for the Playstation has been lasting since the PS2, but now Sony cooked up a brand new online called the Playstation Network and every bit of it is free. The features of the playstation network are Online gaming, Online chatting/webcam, The Playstation Store where you can buy games such as the PS1 classics to demos, full games, movies, songs, graphics, design, photos and alot more. Playstation Network also has the internet…Not like those cheesy ones, But you get full access to the web. Like I can go on Awesomewebsite with it. Go to the chat with it. Go to WordPress, Myspace, youtube and EVERY SINGLE website there is out there! But I have to say, the typing sucks unless you have a full open keyboard.
The 360’s Live, that’s been lasting since the original XBox has had alot more time to mature, so the service is better. However for the Live, it has to be on a high speed or Broadband connection. No Dial Ups or anything, so if you guys have Dial Ups, no online service for you, but if you do have High Speed then welcome to Live. Live also Online Gaming, Online chatting with the Windows Messenger, Download games demos, movies, and songs, You can also go on the web, but as I said, only with High Speed connection or the Broadband connection. Also there’s a fee for using Xbox live. If you want Xbox Live for just 1 month you have to pay up $7.99. For the 3 months basis, pay up $19.99, for the yearly pay up 49.99 for the yearly. Now the Xbox Live has a little better service since it has much more years than the Playstation Network, but they both pretty much offer the same thing so it doesn’t really matter.
Now down to the thing that we all want to buy the consoles for…THE GAMES!!! Both consoles have great games, The 360 has exclusives Halo 3 Ninja Gaiden 2, but the PS3 has other exclusives like Ratchet and Clank Future, And the magnificent game Metal Gear Solid 4! The 360 has been out since 2004 and PS3 coming out for 2006, so 360 has 2 years of more games, but usually the exclusive PS3 games are better, because of the PS3 capabilities and the Blu Ray disc which you can store alot lot more, but not much gamers have tapped into the full Blu Ray and the real capabilities for the PS3. Some games however like Ratchet and Clank used the Blu Ray feature to create MASIVE worlds, and Metal Gear Solid 4 has such realistic graphics that you would never see anywhere else. Plus more games are coming out for the PS3 like Little Big Planet and Gran Turismo 5
The 360 offers more games in the war section while PS3 isn’t all about wars and has more types of gaming so unlike my Friend *cough* *cough Extreme *cough* war isn’t all the games, but if you are like Extreme and you want more war games go for 360, even though PS3 has war games with better graphics, but yeah.
Both Consoles are great! Both offer lots of stuff and have many cool features, but when it all comes down, there can only be 1 winner between the PS3 and the 360. And with all the research I’ve done, and my comparison…
The winner would be…SONY’S PLAYSTATION 3, but don’t worry 360 fans, Xbox 360 is a great console and is also good, but if you want the real deal, go for the PS3, but 360 ain’t bad either!
HOPE THIS HAS HELPED!

PS3 is the power house of the next gen. of gaming. It has awesome features including Blue Ray Player, up to 80gb of memory, Sixaxis, free online services, and much much more. The only thing holding PS3 back was the games, but now with new games like MetalGearSolid4 exclusively for PS3, Rachet and Clank Future, GTA 4, and more, plus new ones coming out, There will be nothing holding it back.
The PS3 has free online services which is awesome! With the Playstation Network you have the power to go on the web, play with online buddies, Download or buy games, movies and more.
The Sixaxis is the controller of the PS3. The Sixaxis is a motion censored controller, sorta like the wii controller. Move it to the right, the left, up, down, push, pull, and more. The disadvantage of Sixaxis is no vibration. Majority of the people like vibration, but it’s something Sixaxis doesn’t…But no problem there, because Dual Shock 3 is out. Dual Shock 3 is Sixaxis with vibration.
The Graphics of this machine is amazing and the power of Blue Ray with up to 50gb of memory you can create things unimaginable with awesome graphics, but since it’s so hard to tap into all that graphics and the cost of it would be alot no game has not met the match of PS3 yet, but we’re still waiting for a game like that.
Well overall PS3 is THE POWER HOUSE of the next generation of gaming! Sony has really out done themselves!

MetalGearSolid4:Guns of the Patriots
Well MetalGearSolid 4 came out and exclusively for PS3. I haven’t played much games from the Metal Gear series, I just haveMetal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and I’ve played 2/3 Metal Gear Solid 4. I don’t have MGS4…yet…but my friend got it and I played it! THE GRAPHICS ARE AMAZING!!! IT LOOKS SO FREAKING REAL!!!
Anyways the story is in the future. Snake…Older Snake has to do a final job to kill this guy [i forgot the name]
The game is good, but there are alot of cut-scenes. It’s like half the game is just cut-scenes, but still the game is AWESOME! I never got bored during the game or anything.
I rate this game a 9.8
The game was awesome, a little too much cut-scene, but it wasn’t that bad. The game was magnificent and the graphics were AAAAMMMMAAAAAZZZZIIIIIIINNNNNGGGGGG!!!!
